Just FYI, as I mentioned at choir practice on Sunday, we will go through our worship set and then the choir members who will be here on 12/25 will also quickly rehearse our 3 numbers for Christmas.  We need some extra practice time and it's just not available right now on Sunday with other special church Christmas events going on.

It's essential to get to rehearsal on time this week, get started and get through the set so we also have choir time.

Love all of you and hope you are enjoying Christmas festivities throughout your week.
With appreciation,

Please be at rehearsal if at all possible by 5:45 pm.  I have on schedule to do "We Speak to Nations" - if we can rehearse it to the point that it is workable.  If it's proving to be too stressful within the time frame allotted or we just don't have it ready on time we will do "I Give Myself Away."  We've done this song (We Speak to Nations) before but it's been a long time, a few years.

Listen to video above to familiarize yourself with it again.  We will not do the exact arrangement and we will be doing it in the key of F.

If we don't have it down pat in time for Wed night we will be ahead on rehearsing this and can hopefully have it ready for Sunday morning.

I appreciate all of you and thank you for all you do...

There's a new song above, please check it out in the post below.  They opened the service with this when I was in NC a few weeks ago and I loved the song.  Couldn't wait to do it here.  I think you'll really like it.

Don't forget we have choir Sunday!  Great job on learning the two songs last week.  We will go over them again -- Angels We Have Heard on High and Christmas Offering.   I will soon be posting music for the next two Christmas songs as well as another song we're going to learn for Sunday morning music on a regular basis.  Please bring a bag lunch or prepare to get something quickly local and we'll get started at 1:30 pm.

As I discussed with you on Sunday we are not doing the entire CD of Hillsong, "Celebrating Christmas" - just a few songs, plus a few more from other sources.  The December 25 service will include adult choir, youth fine arts choir, children's choir, ensembles, instrumental solos and more.  It's going to be a great reflection of our entire CC family.  Again please confirm your attendance with me asap.  I do understand that some of you will be traveling and going to be with family at Christmas.  That is understandable, however I just need to know so that I know how to plan for that day.  Let me know asap as I am still assigning solos and selecting songs and figuring out what's what for the big day.

I am so anticipating what God has for us in the coming months!  There's a great feeling in my spirit as to what's to come.  We need a breakthrough on some things by the end of the year to come into our new season at CC.  Will you please join with me in prayer and fasting?

I love and appreciate all of you,

NEW SONG: Our God Saves

Our God Saves

Chorus 1
Our God saves
Our God saves
There is hope
In Your Name
Mourning turns
To songs of praise
Our God saves
Our God saves

Verse 1
In the Name of the Father
In the Name of the Son
In the Name of the Spirit
Lord we come
We're gather'd together
To lift up Your Name
To call on our Savior
To fall on Your grace
Hear the joyful sound
Of our offering
As Your saints bow down
As Your people sing
We will rise with You
Lifted on Your wings
And the world will see that

Sunday, October 2

Pastor Adam enjoys the slide after all the kids went home from the Fall Connection.

Wow!  What a day Sunday!  Despite the rain it was a stellar day!!!  Thank you for the part you played in this amazing day.  You are all loved & appreciated!!

Here's what's happening this week:

Worship Set:
Hosanna, Praise is Rising
Deep Cries Out
Give Me Faith
Here in Your Presence

Offering:  Your Great Name

Altar Time:  Moving Forward

Frontline:
Soprano: Ashley, Naomi
Alto: Suzanne, Bonnie

Colors:  Your choice - modesty guidelines apply

Please keep me in special prayer this week.  I will be in North Carolina Thursday - Saturday this week and next, as the main speaker for the North Carolina District (AG) Women's Breakaway Conference.  I covet your prayers, for these ladies - that they receive all that God has for them.

I'll be flying back late Saturday night when the event is over.  See you Sunday morning!

Monday, September 19, 2011

Fall Connection is THIS WEEK!!!
Sunday, September 25

And I have so much to tell you in preparation!!!!

Let me get the things that pertain to the actual worship set out of the way and then I'll go on to give additional instruction.

This is going to be a HUGE week.

We are not doing any new material this week -- we need to do some of our material that is our best - what I would consider our tightest stuff, and come prepared spiritually and musically with our game on.  Please be ON TIME - I would like THE ENTIRE TEAM there at 8 am, to be prepped for this day.  We need to go over our set, get it SUPER TIGHT and have time to pray and get ourselves fully engaged for this day.

Worship Set:
Say So
My Savior Lives
Our God
Waiting Here For You

Offering #1:  Choir Song - "We Lift You Up" (from Give Him the Praise)
Offering #2:  I Will Exalt You/I Exalt Thee

Altar Time:  Moving Forward & I Lift My Hands

Dress/Colors: I would ask that the entire team wear BLUE jeans this coming week.  It's a casual day with dinner on the grounds.  The one thing I'd like the same is for us to have blue jeans on bottom, as far as on the top, it's your choice but MODESTY is the word of the day.  No b's (boobs, butts, bellies or backs.)  Ladies, we can dress up our jeans with some cute heels/shoes, and then change after service to go outside.

Note:  There's a bounce house and 18 ft. water slide we've rented for the day so if you want to change to shorts or bathing suit after church you are welcome to do that.  Please remember towels!

As far as frontline, Suzanne is out of town this week.  That leaves us with seven frontline folks left and I'd like to use all of you this week and cord a few mics if we have to.  So everyone come prepared for frontline this week only, please.  Next week we'll go back to scheduling.

Now, other things to note...

When you come to church Sunday morning please park your cars in the back by the playground/trailers, etc.  We are asking the entire worship ministries team and leadership team to park back there for Sunday.  We believe we will need the parking and may even have to have people park cross the street at the credit union.

Also when you get ready for worship service to begin please don't put your purses and bibles, etc. on the chairs in the sanctuary to save a seat for when you are done with worship.  We are fully expecting that it might be a possibility that Celebrators have to stand on Sunday morning.  If so we will take the lead in doing so.  In the event that we can't fit in the sanctuary overflow will be Sanctuary A and the Choir Room.  Every available sanctuary chair has been taken out of storage and set up for this day.  In the event that we have run out of chairs, Pastor Larry should not have to ask anyone to stand.  All of our CC people should just make a move to do so without him asking.

When you come in for rehearsal please take your food that you brought for the day and put it in the kitchen.  The refrigerators will be cleaned out for this purpose.  If you have any question regarding food, you can see Sue Flint, coordinator of food for the day.

We are asking that once the service begins, no Celebrators leave the sanctuary UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.  If you can possibly hold it after worship, please wait until service dismisses to go out.  Not only is leaving a distraction but it lets the air out of the sanctuary.

Most of all, pray, pray, pray about this day!  And then pray some more!

It's time for a ridiculous harvest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all so much,

Monday, September 12, 2011

Sunday, September 18

And the weeks just keep gettin' better and better!  Can't wait to see what God unfolds this week.

By the way, speaking of unfolding, HOW ABOUT THE SCREEN ON THE BACK WALL??!  AMAZING!!!  This is much appreciated.  I didn't announce Sunday as the person who did it requested to be anonymous, but we sure do appreciate it. WONDERFUL!!!

Here's what's happening this week:

Sunday Morning Set:
Great God  (new song - see below)

I Will Exalt You
I Exalt Thee

Song for Offering:  Your Great Name

New Song: GREAT GOD

**Note:  My favorite version of this song is by Free Chapel but I couldn't find it on YouTube.  This will give you the basics of the song.  Please note it's written in "D" but we are going to sing it one key lower in "C".

Sunday, September 11

This Sunday is our special 9/11 Memorial Service.  Please be in prayer about all of the details coming together for this day.  We are only a few days away and much is still needed to bring this together.

The worship set is shortened just a bit to have time for the other special presentations that will occur in the service.  In addition to an interview with John Torres who was on the scene at 9/11 Ground Zero, we will also have some special music.

Worship Set:
Again I Say Rejoice
Our God
Waiting Here for You

Offering:  I Lift My Hands to Believe Again

Frontline:

Soprano:  Ashley, Naomi
Alto:  Aida, Suzanne
Tenor:  Epi, Russell

Special music is taken care of through people I have spoken to directly already about this day.  All that the band, frontline and choir need be concerned about for this day as far as music is above.

Colors:  Please wear blue jeans and a choice of red, white or blue shirt for this day.

Be in much prayer that the invitations that have gone out to police, firefighters and rescue workers will bring much fruit and that we will be able to bless many who serve our community.
