Sunday, January 2, 2011

Yes,we're really starting a new year already, can you believe it?  This Sunday is going to be a phenomenal Sunday as we kick off 2011 in a big way, going full steam ahead with all that God has for us at CC.  We'll be learning some new material this morning too, so be on time!  The new song is not available on You Tube so I am unable to post a video this time however the lyrics are below.  It is from Elevation Church's "Kingdom Come" CD.  This is is the same project that "Give Me Faith" is on.  It's an amazing project and we will do more songs from it.  If you want to download it to your Ipod or Zune you can do that and have the whole project.  I highly recommend it, just for your own praise and worship time at home.

Band please be aware that we will do the song in the same key that Elevation does it.  If you would like a chart on Wednesday night I'll have one for you in advance.

You promised Your spirit, would change the world through us

New Song: He Reigns

It's the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It's the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God's holy fire
It's every tribe, every tongue, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choir

It's all God's children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It's all God's children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

Let it rise about the four winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples
None rings truer than this

And all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they've just heard
'Cause all the powers of darkness
Can't drown out a single word

When all God's children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God's people singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He Reigns

The video and lyrics to Give Me Faith (new song) is below.  This is such a phenomenal song.  I can't wait to see what God does through it in our church!!!

Colors:  Black and Blue

This week there will be no choir song - I will just be playing a very quick offertory on the keyboard just for the length of time ushers actually receive the offering.  We need to save all the time necessary for KidZone to present their ministry that morning.  After worship and our customary introductions in the service, Pastor Adam and Kidzone will be showing up in a big way to show us what's happening in our children's ministry of CC.  I can't wait!!!

Prayer Requests from this past week's choir rehearsal:
Juleen - continued healing
Mike K - a job - has interviews this week
KFaux - healing
Children with school issues
Minerva - kid's mom issues
Doug - oral surgery this week
Kaylyn - blood work this week - pray that good results come back, no CF
Bonnie - pre-op goes well and is complete this week - surgery SOON
Susan - School work
Jim - continued recovery from surgery
Todd - promotion, promotion, promotion!

Other reminders:  This week is Holy Roller Night!  Invite a friend!!!  Town and Country Skateworld!!!

You are loved and appreciated.

Give Me Faith

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite song right now.  I listen to it so many times a week I've worn it out.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  It's by Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC.  On this video they start with the bridge.  We won't do that - we'll be starting right with Verse 1,  just FYI.  Also for band members, they do this in the key of A, we'll be doing it in D.  I have charts ready for you to take home Wed night.  ~pd

Verse 1
I need You to soften my heart and break me apart
I need You to open my eyes and see that You're shaping my life
And all I am, I surrender

Chorus
Give me faith, to trust what You say
That You're good, and You're love is great
I'm broken inside
I give You  my life

Verse 2
I need you, to soften my heart and break me apart
I need you, to pierce through the dark, and cleanse every part of me
Cause all I am, I surrender...

Repeat Chorus Again

Bridge
I may we weak
but Your spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will!

Choir Song:  We Lift You Up

Colors:  Black and White

Don't forget ~ choir lunch and rehearsal is Sunday!  Since we have a luncheon after the prayer outreach Saturday and many are participating in that by bringing a dish I do not want to over extend people when it comes to preparing and bringing food dishes.  Therefore, this week for choir luncheon we are doing "bring your own bag lunch".  You are responsible for your own lunch/drink.  If you don't come prepared with your own lunch you may quickly run out to get something and come back to the church. We will begin rehearsal at 1:30.

In preparation for working on the Christmas music please rehearse the Glory CD at home.

Love and appreciate you all.

Rise Up

I am blessed among the people
I am blessed among the nations
I am blessed because
I am loved by You
I am loved and highly favored
Saved by the grace
Of a mighty Savior
I am blessed because
I am loved by You
No weapon formed against me will prosper
No curse can ever take
His promise from me
When hope is gone
And the darkness has fallen
I will still believe
I will still believe

Chorus

I will rise up
I will rise up
I will rise up
And call myself blessed
I will rise up
I will rise up
I will rise up
And call myself blessed

Heaven and earth adore You
Kings and kingdoms bow down
Son of God, You are the One
You are the One we're living for

You are the love that frees us
You are the light that leads us
Like a fire burning
Son of God, You are the one
You are the one we're living for

I promised a link to the church signs that were out of touch with the culture...I couldn't save this photo for some reason, so to see it you have to go to the link here.  This is an example of a church out of the loop...so funny.

Don't forget, this Sunday is NATIONAL BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY!!!  Who have you invited?  This is a great excuse to call EVERYONE YOU KNOW and invite them to church.  Say, "hey, did you  know it's national back to church Sunday?  You need to come with me this week, because in addition to this national day, my church is simply AWESOME..."  Let them know there will be free coffee, tea and breakfast treats for them there this Sunday too.

Okay gang, here's the line up for this week:

Worship Set:

Blessed Be Your Name
Lead Me to the Cross
At the cross (I bow my knee...)

I will see all of you at rehearsal as well at 8 am for band and frontline and 8:30 for everyone else.  Thanks for your faithfulness to the Lord, and to Celebration Church!  I love you.
